The Canadian Sub-Aqua Club has a guest diver program that is closely tied to the Ontario Underwater Council and all guest divers are required to purchase an OUC membership as part of the insurance requirement for club dives. OUC membership can be purchased at a cost of $30.00 and can be added as a item during dive registration. Members of other OUC insured clubs are welcome to join us as a guest diver for a dive or dive weekend and because they are already members of the OUC, there is no additional charge other than the cost of the dive event itself.

Guest divers are limited to a single dive event per season but are encouraged to join the club if they with to continue diving with the Canadian Sub-Aqua Club. The $30.00 OUC membership fee will be deducted from the purchase of CANSAC membership.

Guest divers from other OUC insured clubs that may wish to ALSO join the Canadian Sub-Aqua Club are also eligible for the $30 rebate on their CanSAC membership.

Who can take part in the guest diver program?

Any certified diver!

What do I need to do to take part?

Sign up for a club dive. The Canadian Sub-Aqua Club restricts access for registration to club members from April 1st to Jun 1st. As of June 1st, 2012 registration for CanSAC dives opens to all divers who meet the requirements. (Valid C-Card and OUC insured member)

What do I need to bring with me?

Before we can allow ANY guest diver to participate in a club dive, you must provide proof of both a valid c-card and valid OUC membership. It is also recommended that you bring your dive log with you, or you may need to be evaluated by an instructor or divemaster to ensure that your skills are commensurate with the dive you have signed up for. Recommend skill levels are posted on each and every club dive.

What if I have not been diving for more than a year?

If you have not been diving in over 365 days, you will need to do a refresher course in our pool, Monday nights, at 8075 Bayview Avenue. The cost for a refresher is $25 for non-members and it must be scheduled ahead of time. This is also an oppourtunity to meet some of the club members and for the club members to meet you.

How much does it cost to join the club if I was a guest diver?

Club membership is $90 per year, but as a guest diver or OUC insured club member you will receive a $30.00 credit so your membership fee would be $60.00.
